“Our company has always acted responsibly and with respect to the environment, as well as on social matters and issues of relationships within supply chains. As part of environmental issues, in addition to the pressure to reduce the carbon footprint, energy and resources in general, we place a long-term emphasis on blue-green infrastructure (green roofs, parks, water elements, paved roads, detention basins) and the development of biodiversity. In social matters, the priority for us is to create a pleasant, safe and functional background and environment for both employees and tenants as well as residents from near or wider surroundings. In management, we strive to place high moral demands on our own company, but we also expect a similar approach from our clients and suppliers. But now we are entering an era where sustainability is quantified and formalised and it is important not only for us, but also for financial institutions and our clients. That is why we have prepared a non-financial report for 2022 (though it is a legislative obligation starting from 2025), in which all areas falling under the ESG agenda are described in detail,” explained Martin Unger, Technical Director of Passerinvest, who is responsible for the ESG agenda.
As part of the implementation of the ESG strategy, individual policies and objectives, which Passerinvest intends to pursue in the future, were defined.
E (environmental): Respect for the environment
The aim of the company in the area of the environment is to establish a sustainable and environmentally-friendly approach in the construction and operation of all administrative and residential buildings. To continue to contribute to the protection of natural resources and actively seek opportunities to reduce negative impacts on the environment. The expected result will be a reduction in the carbon footprint as well as in energy intensity, together with a significant reduction in the amount of unrecyclable waste produced and drinking water consumed.
S (social): Care for tenants and employees, plus the formation and support of local development
In the social area, the company will continue to focus on providing superior-quality services for its employees and tenants. Their satisfaction is an absolute priority for Passerinvest. The continuous effort is to be a responsible builder, administrator, neighbour and partner, whose approach supports social development and creates long-term values for society. The goal is to achieve the long-term satisfaction of tenants and clients and to maintain employee fluctuation at a low level. The aim is also to continue to develop above-standard partner relationships within local communities and to evaluate and maximise the social value of the implemented projects.
G (governance): Ethical and transparent management
Passerinvest is based on moral and ethical values enshrined in the Bible’s Ten Commandments. The priority is to respect these values in relation to employees and business partners. All employees will complete training in the Code of Ethics in the area of sustainability and the effective protection of whistleblowers will be set up. A sustainable purchasing policy has also been introduced and key suppliers will be trained in sustainability.
