Developer Crestyl has opened a new park in its DOCK district, growing around two blind branches of the Vltava in Liben, Prague. It offers on an area of one hectare both relaxation in the greenery with an ornamental pond, fog and smart benches, as well as the possibility of sports activities - right in the park there is a running speed meter on a special tartan running track leading around the whole area. In the near future, charging stations for electric cars will also be installed next to the park. In the future, the new park also includes markets and various cultural and sporting events.
The organizers of Open House Prague have chosen the summer date of the festival this time and invite all lovers of architecture to its seventh year, which will take place from 2 to 8 August 2021. On the weekend of 7 and 8 August, 80 normally inaccessible buildings and spaces and The week will bring a number of accompanying events. The motto of the festival is "Architecture for all", because the tours of the buildings are intended for the general public, including families with children and people with visual and hearing impairments. Admission to all open buildings is free without prior registration.
The Covid 19 pandemic has given rise to a new certification. The Well Health-Safety Rating addresses the indoor environment of buildings, their operation and management in terms of health impacts. It is already owned by the first buildings in the Czech Republic, such as the Parkview building, which Skanska recently completed in Pankrác, Prague.
Czech residential developer JRD is entering the commercial segment. The company will build its first administrative building, Viadukt Anděl, directly opposite the giant Smíchov City project, the implementation of which was started last year by Sekyra Group.
Preparations for another large project of the Passerinvest development group took almost fifteen years. After the BB Center in Michel, it will start developing a second location in Prague's Roztyly. So far, the plans cover about half the area of BB Centrum, but even there, developer Radim Passer has been buying more land on an ongoing basis.
For thirty years, the plot in Prague 6 between Evropská, Liberijská and Kladenská streets was an unsolvable problem for architects and investors. The complicated and irregular plot of land on the hill and the difficult terrain did not make the construction much easier, so several designs, including apartment buildings or a large shopping center, took turns on it. However, none of them stand there.
AFI Europe has expanded its office portfolio with another property. The Classic 7 Business Park, AFI Karlín, AFI Vokovice and the AFI City 1 building now also include the Avenir Business Park in Prague 5 - Nové Butovice. The company bought it from the EPISO 4 fund from the British company Tristan Capital Partners for 66.5 million euros. The premium office complex with a total leasable area of more than 25,600 m2 is almost 100% occupied. Long-term tenants include companies such as ČSOB (belongs to the KBC Group), ING, Porsche, McDonald’s, Conduent, Dermacol, Simac Technik and Coloplast.
Leaving offices was the most common response to a possible risk of infection in the first weeks of a pandemic. In the first wave, over 40 percent of Czechs at least partially worked from their homes, in the second wave, less than 30 percent of the population used this solution. Czechs manage work from home much harder than employees in the rest of the world. This follows from a study by the IDEA think tank dedicated to Czech employees and a study by the Microsoft Work Trend Index.
