Indeed, buildings have come a long way from the days when a coffee shop or lobby fountain was all that you could hope for at your workplace. Today, it seems like you could find a building with practically any activity or amenity imaginable if you look long enough.
The former freight station in Smíchov is starting to change. Practically in the center of Prague, a new "city within a city" is to be built within 12 years, which will include apartments, offices, retail space, and public spaces, including a kilometer-long pedestrian boulevard. The plans also include two parks, each the size of the Old Town Square. This is currently the largest development project in Prague.

Prague priorities representing 25 ambitious construction projects that will significantly change the face of Prague in the next 20 years. The exhibition was prepared by the capital city of Prague and IPR Prague. It starts on 23rd September and will last until 20th December 2020 in the premises of the Prague Center for Architecture and Urban Planning (CAMP) and on Mariánské náměstí, where the projects are presented in the form of a panel exhibition. The exhibition, in which visitors themselves can interact, maps 5 basic categories of the building development of the capital city of Prague, namely new districts, new transport connections, new opportunities, new squares and streets, and new parks. Each category is represented by 5 specific projects.
