UBM fulfills its vision of building wooden buildings in Europe

UBM Development AG is aiming to fulfill its strategic goal of becoming the leading developer of wooden construction projects in Europe. In 2024, it already has over 300,000 m² of wooden buildings in preparation. Timber Pioneer, the first wooden office building with a wood-hybrid structure in the Frankfurt am Main business district, is now complete and its anchor tenant is Universal Investment. UBM recently started construction on the Timber Factory district in Munich, the Timber Peak high-rise in Mainz and the LeopoldQuartier Office complex in Vienna. The company has a number of other wooden buildings in preparation, such as the Timber Works and Timber Living projects in Munich or Timber Port in Düsseldorf. The vision of the parent company is also followed by the Czech branch of UBM Development Czechia, which this summer will complete the Timber Praha project, the first multi-storey residential wooden building in the history of the Czech metropolis.

UBM will build the world's tallest wooden skyscraper in Vienna

UBM Development AG will implement the construction of the Timber Marina Tower project, a 113-meter high office building with a wood-hybrid structure in Vienna's Handelskai district. At the same time, the company progressed with the Timber View residential project and the Timber Peak office building in Mainz, and with the preparation of the LeopoldQuartier district in Vienna. UBM plans to become the largest European developer of ecological buildings with a wooden structure. In the Czech Republic, the parent company's vision is followed by UBM Development Czechia, which is building the Timber Praha residential project, the first wooden multi-storey apartment buildings in the capital. Compared to ambitious high-rise building projects abroad, however, Timber Praha's energy-sustainable houses have a maximum height of 12 meters, due to restrictions arising from domestic legislation.y

UBM strengthens sustainable construction: it is also preparing projects with wooden structures in the Czech Republic

The year 2021 was very successful for UBM Development Czechia. It sold three projects (in Prague, Lipno and Karlovy Vary) and also approved the Astrid Offices projects in Holešovice, the Andaz Prague Hotel on Senovážné náměstí and the Neugraf residential project in Smíchov. This list also includes the start of construction of an extensive residential project Arcus City in Prague-Stodůlky, where it also directly opened a sales center. This year, UBM will start construction of the next stage of this project. At the same time, they are negotiating new acquisitions. Following the example of the Austrian parent company, it is going to use ecological wooden constructions of houses and prepare a pilot housing project in the Czech Republic.

UBM Development Czechia has sold the Astrid Offices office building. The new owner is the investment group Portiva

UBM Development Czechia, which completed and approved the Astrid Offices office building in Prague's Holešovice in May, sold it to the PORTIVA investment group. Both parties have decided not to disclose the amount of the transaction. The property, which has 4,300 m2 of office space and 440 m2 of retail space on the ground floor, is now fully leased. Since December, it has also become the headquarters of UBM Development Czechia, which has moved here from its offices in Liben.

The new Astrid Offices office building in Prague's Holešovice from UBM Development Czechia welcomes its tenants in August. The Czech branch of UBM is also moving here from its original headquarters in Voctářova Street in Libeň. The project currently rents all offices as well as retail space on the ground floor.

UBM Development Czechia balances its results for the first half of 2021

The development company UBM Development Czechia published its results for the first half of this year. The company was successful in all real estate segments in which it currently operates on the Czech market: in the segment of housing, offices and hotels. UBM's strategy in the coming years is to focus mainly on residential construction, especially in Prague.
