The spokeswoman of the company Lenka Šmídová admitted the delay of the construction. However, according to the director of development, Igor Klajmon, the term is still indicative. "In 2021, the preparatory phases of the project and the start of construction will be sharp in 2022," Klajmon told E15, according to which the permitting process will affect the actual start of construction. The design of the new headquarters of Česká spořitelna, which will house 3,500 people, will be provided by the Austrian studio Baumschlager Eberle in conjunction with the Czech design office Pavel Hnilička Architekti.
The bank campus will consist of four buildings that will grow on an area of 7.5 hectares and up to seven to ten floors. According to the new schedule, bankers are expected to move to new offices in 2024. They are still housed in several older buildings. among others around the Budějovická metro station in Prague 4. In addition to the Česká Spořitelna campus, four other office buildings will be part of the Smíchov City South project. However, one of them is considering an alternative solution, and could, on the contrary, serve for student or short-term accommodation. "As we finally decide, it will depend on a number of factors, especially market developments," Klajmon said, adding that residents would have significantly boosted the neighborhood.
